Intelligence agencies in the United States have finally released the findings of their investigation regarding the real origin of the novel coronavirus disease.

KAMI learned that there are speculations on social media that claimed the dreadful virus came from an infectious disease laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The rumors contradicted several reports that COVID-19 originated from a Chinese wet market called Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed through a recent report that the virus is not manmade or genetically modified.

However, it said that the investigation will continue to accurately identify if the virus came from animals or it was a mistake of a laboratory in Wuhan.

“The Intelligence Community also concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified,” the report said.

“The IC will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” it added.

In a previous article by KAMI, a biotechnology firm in the United States said it has antibodies to fight COVID-19.

The novel coronavirus disease continues to affect the health of people and the economy of many countries. Its first case was recorded in China in the latter part of December.
