The Department of Health (DOH) expressed its gratitude towards the donation of Hotel Sogo for the healthcare workers.
KAMI learned that Hotel Sogo donated about P60 million worth of room accommodations.
Through a Facebook post, the DOH said that more than 800 rooms were donated to health workers to accommodate them during the enhanced community quarantine.
“Maraming salamat sa Hotel Sogo sa pagbibigay ng libreng tutuluyan ang ating mga healthcare workers habang pinapatupad ang Enhanced Community Quarantine!” it read in the post.
It was also mentioned that frontliners from Caloocan, Makati, Naga, Molino, Pasay, Manila, Alabang, and Quezon City were able to use the said rooms.
As of April 26, the DOH recorded a total of 7,579 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). KAMI previously reported that 70 more patients recovered, making a total of 862 recoveries.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, President Rodrigo Duterte extended the enhanced community quarantine over the high-risk areas in the country, including Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON.
