To provide transparency and avoid doubts on his headship, a barangay chairman in Laguna bravely posted the names of his constituents who are on the list of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) financial assistance beneficiaries.
KAMI learned that Barangay Chairman Tatalino De Gala of Brgy. IV-B in San Pablo City posted the list in public places so it can be viewed by residents.
As many issues about financial assistance surfaced in the midst of the enhanced community quarantine, many netizens said that Chairman Tatalino’s move should be imitated in other barangays.

Earlier, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has issued an order to barangay chairmen on disclosing their master list for SAP beneficiaries.
The agency encouraged barangay heads to post the lists in public places like City Hall and others. According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, this will promote honesty and transparency.
In a previous report by KAMI, Lolit Solis took to social media to bravely air her honest opinion over the government’s move to give financial aid to the needy Filipinos amid the present crisis. She expressed her disappointment with the process of selecting individuals who are entitled to receive assistance.
At present, the Philippines is under a state of calamity while the entire Luzon is under an enhanced community quarantine.
