A US Agency revealed on Thursday that the new coronavirus can be destroyed by sunlight.

According to ABS-CBN, adviser to the secretary of the Department of HOmeland Security on science and technology, William Bryan, revealed that ultraviolet rays have a powerful effect in kiling the virus.

Solar light, according to Bryan, can potentially kill virus present on surfaces and in the air.

KAMI learned that an increase in temperature and humidity creates a less-favorable environment to the virus.

With sunlight and with 20 percent humidity, at a temperature between 21 to 24 degrees Celsius, the life of the virus in aerosolized form only lasted to 1.5 minutes.

However, when a person is already infected with the virus, then ultraviolet rays may no longer kill the virus inside the body. This is also why scientists have slammed myths on drinking alcohol to increase body temperature to kill the virus.
