The world of the married 2020 is based on BBC One drama series Doctor Foster, starring Suranne Jones. The TV series is based on an interesting couple Ji Sun-woo (Kim Hee-ae) and Lee Tae-oh (Park Hae-Joon) who have the perfect marriage, only for their relationship to be truly tested.
The World of the Married plot
The World of the Married Kdrama, is about the life of a married family medicine doctor, Ji Sun-Woo. She is married to Lee Tae-Oh and they have a son together. Ji Sun-Woo feels like she has the perfect marriage since everything seems to be running smoothly.
Lee Tae-Oh dream is to become a famous movie director. He gets the full support of his wife to run an entertainment business. Despite the love he has for his wife, he finds himself intertwined in a dangerous love affair.
Ji Sun-Woo suspects that her husband is having an affair. She confides in her best friend Doctor Sul, who was purposeful in suppressing her instincts. Her suspicions are confirmed when she gets pictures of her husband and lover socializing with their friends.
With the pain of betrayal surrounding Ji Sun-Woo, she has mixed feelings of revenge and protecting her family. Their marriage lies on a very thin line. Where does her loyalty lie?

The story begins with a demonstration of the perfect family where everything seems flawless. Having been married for a while, Ji Sun-Woo starts becoming suspicious of the husband that he is having an affair. This is triggered by the small incidences of the piece of hair and cherry lipstick.
Her suspicions drive her to snoop around her husband’s phone only to find several pictures of her husband with his lover Yeo Da Kyung. Other photos included the couple with their friends. Her first instinct was revenge with a pair of scissors.
The World of the Married - episode 2 recap: "Lonely Sailing"
As she struggles with her thoughts on revenge by stabbing the husband at a birthday party, the presence of her son halted her moves and she restrained herself. She confronts her best friend Doctor Sul who was aware of the situation but Sul defended herself that Lee was to break off the love affair.
Jin Sun-Woo finds herself in a weird position where she has to medically attend to her husband’s lover Yeo Da Kyung. During the appointment, she realizes that Yeo Da Kyung is pregnant. Jin Sun-Woo uses her friend Doctor Sul, to convey the pregnancy news to her husband.

The World of the Married - episode 3 recap: "Nothing On You"
The episode begins with a flashback of Ji Sun-Woo’s pregnancy and engagement to Lee Tae Oh. The flashback is short-lived as she sees her husband heading to be with his pregnant lover. At this point, she approaches her lawyer for a divorce but she has to gather proof of the affair in order to proceed.
As she digs deeper, she is rattled when she realizes that her husband has been siphoning her salary to other secret accounts and financing his lover. She realizes she has to play smart, not to allow her husband to know what she is up to.
She swallows her pride and assists her husband during the burial of his mother, despite the presence of his lover’s family.

Ji Sun-Woo continues in her pursuit to find evidence of her husband’s affair. The more she digs, the more she finds information that is difficult for her to chew and swallow.
Her nosy patient Mr.Han brings to her attention a video of her husband embracing Da Kyung at his birthday party. What is even more intriguing is that the video was taken by his son, Joon Young.

This episode grabs you by the throat leaving you holding your breath in anticipation of what is going to happen next. As Ji Sun-Woo goes through emotional wounds and betrayal, the tension keeps growing when she announces to Da Kyung’s parents that their daughter is pregnant and the baby’s father is her husband, Lee Tae.

Ji Sun-Woo seeks no other option other than divorce. Tae becomes more frustrated and takes advantage of the chance given by his lover Da Kyung, to patch things up. Ji Sun-Woo’s spy is exposed to Tae and Da Kyung, by her abusive boyfriend.
Ji Sun-Woo’s world turns upside down when her husband and the abusive boyfriend take their case to her boss. They want to show that she requires psychiatric help. This forces her to flee with her son. Tae encounters a heated argument with Ji Sun-Woo which results in a 2-year restraining order against Tae.
Tae and Da Kyung, relocate only to come back after two years. Tae returns as a successful real estate developer flossing around as the new host in town sending party invitations to everyone.

Ji Sun-Woo had no intention of going to the party that she was invited by Tae. All this changed when she realized that her son, Joon Young, was attending the party without her permission.
Da Kyung becomes uncomfortable when she sees Sun-Woo coming from her master bedroom. Tae embarks on revenge to Sun-Woo by doing whatever is in his power to ensure she loses her job.

This is the episode that made the TV series to break 20% AGB Nationwide ratings. The couple neighbors of Ji Sun-Woo went for lunch together. During this time, Jae-Hyuk, the husband of Ye-Rim was outrightly flirting with the waitress which the wife never took to her attention. They try to extend a helping hand to Ji Sun-Woo, but there is nothing they can do.

This becomes even more complicated as Tae warns Ji Sun-Woo not to interfere with his relationship with Da Kyung. As Sun-Woo joins the Woman’s association, you can be sure she still has a trick or two to use on her husband, Tae.
The World of the Married - episode 10 recap part 2: "Tears Send You Away"
The love triangle and marital affairs start affecting Jae-Hyuk and her husband Ye-Rim. She also becomes a victim of phone snooping and finds pictures of her husband with the Barrister. This happens during their medical check-up and after seeing the pictures she disappears.
Ji Sun and Tae on the other hand exchange mixed reactions when they are taken back to memory lane with their wedding video.
