Senator Christopher “Bong” Go wants to push the “Balik-Probinsya” program after the enhanced community quarantine over Luzon is lifted.
KAMI learned that Go wants to decongest Metro Manila to contain the further spread of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
In a report by ABS-CBN News (authored by Katrina Domingo), Go asked the national government to provide incentives and livelihood assistance for Filipinos in Metro Manila that wish to go back to their home provinces.
As reported by GMA News Online (authored by Dona Magsino), the senator said that the provinces should be developed and more resources should be added. Go mentioned that he will find ways so that businessmen will invest in rural development.
According to the Department of Health, 4,591 out of the total 6,710 confirmed cases of COVID-19 is in Metro Manila.
Earlier, KAMI reported that President Rodrigo Duterte offered a P10 million reward to anyone who can develop a vaccine against COVID-19.
