Duterte to give P10 million reward to any Filipino who can find vaccine for coronavirus

- President Rodrigo Duterte is offering P10 million to any Filipino who can discover the vaccine for COVID-19

- This was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque

- Roque also mentioned that in addition to the reward, the President will also be giving a grant to the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital to develop the vaccine

- Harry Roque mentioned previously that the government is eyeing on extending the ECQ or implement a modified quarantine after April 30

President Rodrigo Duterte claimed about a week ago that the COVID-19 antibody cure is expected to roll out in May, although clinical trials on the said "cure" were still underway.

KAMI learned that the President is offering a reward of up to P10 million to any Filipino, who would be able to discover a vaccine against the deadly coronavirus.

"Inanunsyo po ng Pangulo na siya ay magbibigay ng pabuya hanggang P10 milyon sa kahit sinong Pilipino na makakadiskubre ng vaccine laban sa COVID-19," said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque during a virtual press briefing, as per ABS-CBN report.

In addition to the P10 million reward, it was also announced that the President would be giving UP-PGH a substantial grant to help them develop a vaccine against COVID-19.

As of now, different countries, scientists, including the Centers and Disease Control Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization are racing to find a vaccine against the disease that has already infected more than 2 million people around the world.
