Juliet Alunan was all smiles when she was finally declared negative for coronavirus, something that COVID-19 patients would like to hear.

One thing that surprised her though was the staggering hospital bill , which reached P1.3 million.

She didn't expect that being admitted for COVID-19 would be that expensive.

According to her interview on ABS-CBN, she was lucky that her hospitalization was covered by PhilHealth, considering that she got better before April 15, the final date that PhilHealth would shoulder COVID hospitalization. After the said date, the agency already laid down their 4-tier coverage.

Alunan recalled that she was suffering from fever, cough, and difficulty breathing for 8 days before she was brought to the hospital.

At the time, she was just thinking of her husband and 3 children. Thankfully her condition got better after four days and she was eventually discharged from the hospital.
