Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Wednesday that the local government of Pasig will provide more than P1 billion cash aid for its residents during the enhanced community quarantine.

KAMI learned that all residents in Pasig that were not included in the list of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the social amelioration program will still receive cash assistance.

In an interview on DZMM Teleradyo, Sotto explained that the local government will make a supplemental budget and decided to halt some projects to raise funds.

“Gagastos po kami ng more than P1 billion for around P8,000 per family,” Sotto said.

As reported by the Philippine Star, Sotto also mentioned that they will not be selective in terms of giving cash aid to its residents. He said that the only requirement is that the family currently lives in Pasig City.
