Sanitation tents donated by Angel Locsin removed from PGH

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed to the public that the misting tents donated by Angel Locsin to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) had to be removed.

KAMI learned that the said information was announced during the recent virtual press briefing conducted by the said department.

Maria Rosario Vergeire, the undersecretary of DOH, stated that they were able to talk to the award-winning actress about the said matter.

She clarified that misting is not an effective way to fight the novel coronavirus and it will even cause danger to the health of the Filipinos.

The said department reported a few days ago that there were people who complained about having asthma and dermatitis because of misting.

As she continued with her statement, Vergeire said that the health department is grateful for the massive donations of Angel.

She also quipped that the PGH will continue to use the sanitation tents that are originally intended for healthcare workers.

"Nakapanayam po namin si Miss Angel Locsin, at gusto lang po naming ipabatid sa ating mga kababayan na napag-utos na po ng pamunuan ng Philippine General Hospital na tanggalin na po ang misting tents mula noong narinig po nila ang anunsyo ng Department of Health," the undersecretary uttered.

"Gusto rin po nating linawin na itong mga misting tents sa PGH ay ibinigay po through a donation ni Miss Angel Locsin, at siya po ay sumusunod sa mga pamantayan at protocol ng Department of Health kapag dating sa mga dino-donate niyang produkto o mga equipment or supplies,” she added.
