The Department of Health (DOH) announced that as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, there are an additional 53 recoveries from coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
KAMI learned that the total recoveries are now at 295.
Through a Facebook post, the DOH also reported that there are 291 new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines. The total confirmed cases are now at 5,223.
Meanwhile, there were 20 new deaths recorded, making a total of 335 fatalities.
As reported by ABS-CBN News, the 53 figure is the highest number of recoveries recorded in a day since the pandemic spread in the country.
In a different Facebook post, the DOH announced that there is now a COVID-19 case tracker available on its official website.
The newly-improved tracker now includes additional information about the COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 testing centers, and health facilities.
In a previous report by KAMI, the DOH reiterated that spraying or misting disinfectants are not advisable to kill the coronavirus. Instead, objects should be soaked completely and surfaces should be disinfected directly to kill the virus.
The coronavirus disease or COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. As of posting time, there are over 1.8 million confirmed cases of coronavirus disease globally.
