Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto auctions shoe collection to raise funds for cash aid

Cainta, Rizal Mayor Kit Nieto announced that he is auctioning his shoe collection to raise funds to provide cash assistance to the families in the municipality.

KAMI learned that not all families in Cainta will be included in the social amelioration program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Therefore, through a Facebook post, Nieto said that he will be raising funds to provide for those not included in the list.

“Wala naman tayong perang tulad ng Pasig na kayang tustusan yung mga hindi na cover ng dswd program,” he said.

“Naisip kong mag auction ng ilang gamit ko tas yung proceeds bigay ko sa mga hindi na cover.. makatulong kahit paano,” Nieto added.

In the post, the mayor explained that he would be auctioning 3 pairs of shoes everyday until the enhanced community quarantine ends or until his shoe collection runs out.

“Araw araw hanggang matapos ang quarantine, mag auction ako ng 3 pares hanggang maubos ang virus o maubos ang koleksyon ko,” he shared.

In a previous report by KAMI, Mayor Vico Sotto announced that the local government of Pasig City will provide financial assistance to those families not included in the list of DSWD.

According to the DSWD, only 18 million families will be included in the social amelioration program that aims to give P5,000 to P8,000 cash subsidy per family in 2 months.
