Bong was born on 25th September 1966 in Manila, the Philippines. His real name is José Maria Mortel Bautista Jr. He is the son of the late Azucena Mortel Bautista (mother) and the former Senator and Philippine Reclamation Authority Chairman Ramon Revilla, Sr. (father).
He has three siblings; an older brother called Strike Revilla who is a mayor of Bacoor Cavite, which is their hometown. His sister is called Andrea Bautista-Ynares, who is the wife of Casimiro Jun Ynares III, the former governor of Rizal. Bong’s younger half-brother is known as Ram Revilla and was killed in his home on 29th October 2011 at the age of 23 years. Ram was an actor like his elder brother.
