A desperate 60-year-old decided to leave his home in Pampanga and go to Manila to seek help from his brother as he no longer had any money nor food to eat.

Since transportation has been suspended, the old man walked from Pampanga, relying only on mangoes that he gets to pick on the road for his own sustenance.

Dr. Win Enriquez, a doctor from PGH, saw him at NLEX while he was on his way to Manila to report to work on Saturday, April 4.

He stopped and asked the old man, and upon learning about his plight, and that he was headed for Cubao, Quezon City, where his brother lives, the doctor offered him a ride. Dr. Enriquez noted that he was still holding a peeled mango on his hand, with more mangoes in a plastic bag on the other hand.

Five minutes later, the old man was already sleeping.

At NLEX Bocaue Toll Gate Office, the doctor decided to turn him over to the authorities, so that they could duly give him the assistance he needed, as well as in deference to quarantine protocols.

The doctor also gave him some cash and packs of biscuits.
