Scientists may have found a promising way to combat the coronavirus pandemic through the infusion of convalescent plasma, one containing immune antibodies drawn from individuals who have already recovered from coronavirus.

As per Yahoo PH's report, the pilot study involved 10 patients, who were ill with COVID-19. They received a single dose of antibodies from recovered patients, which ultimately saved their lives.

The patient's symptoms improved, shortening the period, their oxygen levels also improved, and they enjoyed viral clearance.

In the Journal of the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences, it suggested benefits in administering it to severed COVID-19 cases. The tests were done in three hospitals in China.

A 46-year-old patient who received convalescent plasma showed that he received it on the 11th day after his symptoms started appearing, and the following day, his blood tested negative from SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19 . The day after, he was already taken off the ventilator.
