Dayanara Torres, a former celebrity in the Philippines, had a viral Instagram call with Filipina singer Pops Fernandez.

KAMI learned that one of the things they talked about was Dayanara’s battle with cancer.

The former beauty queen told Pops that she was able to beat cancer after getting treatments for a year.

“For a year, I’ve been battling cancer. It was found last year. It was out of the blue. I was working. I was being a judge on a show which is like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in Spanish, flying every week at the beginning of the year. The next morning, I found out it was cancer

"I started treatment for a year and I thank the Lord and everyone for all the prayers. It’s amazing the amount of love and support that I received. Last week, on Monday, I had my last test to just check if there’s anything kinda like leftover hanging around, and everything was negative,” Dayanara told Pops.

She also talked to Pops about the current COVID-19 crisis, saying that she is focusing on the positive things as her family deals with the pandemic.

“The funny thing is right now, nobody knows what’s going on in the world. I am blessed that my oldest son who lives in New York, he was lucky enough that him and his girlfriend were able to leave early. So they are here. The three of us are together. I am blessed that way…

“As soon as this is over, I definitely need to go back. I miss everybody

“I just know deep in my heart that this is going to pass. In the meantime, I know we are scared but we need to be grateful and we need to be thankful… This is a moment to reach out, connect. At least we have this technology that is helping us until we can actually be able to embrace for real. It’s gonna happen,” she stated.
