Claudine Barretto fires back at basher questioning her about Rico Yan's death

Optimum star, Claudine Barretto, has sizzled the online community after answering a netizen's question on her social media account.

KAMI learned that the netizen's question was about Claudine's former and late partner, Rico Yan who died on March 29, 2002 at the age of 27.

Following this news, Claudine recently posted a photo montage video dedicated to the late matinee idol.

In her caption, she wrote, "18 years. March 29, 2002, the day that my soul & heart broke into pieces. The most painful pain one can only go through."

However, her post prompted one netizen to question the actress's whereabouts during the death of the actor, "No offense meant din pero sobrang nakakaawa si Rico nung kinuha bangkay niya sa Palawan.

"We were just 2 days ahead na nandun din sa lugar na yun nung mangyari yun. But where were you Claudine nung mga panahon na yun?

"Di ka naman niya kasama. Not sure but, were you in Subic nga ba with someone during that time?"

The said comment prompted Claudine to answer and told the netizen to get his facts straight, "Please get your facts straight. November of 2001 break na kami, but living in the same roof. Can't you still love someone you just broke up with?"

It can be worth noting that Claudine and Rico were famous onscreen partners who eventually got together back in the day. The two were together for four years before calling it quits.

As reported earlier by KAMI, Claudine Barretto remembers Rico Yan in an Instagram post she shared on Saturday, March 14. He passed away on March 29, 2002, and was one of ABS-CBN's matinee idols. Claudine and Rico were onscreen and real-life partners back then.

Claudine Barretto is a Filipino film and television actress, product endorser and entrepreneur. She tied the knot with Raymart Santiago in 2006 but got divorced 8 years after in 2014. Claudine has four children – Sabina, Santino, Quia, and Noah.
