Her niece, Jhoanna Mariel Buendia took to Facebook to express her grief over the passing of her aunt.

In an interview with ABC, she reiterated how shocked she was at how fast by which the virus overcame her stalwart aunt.

She recalled that her aunt didn't show any frailty and didn't even mention that she was experiencing any of the symptoms.

As per the report, Jhoann said that her uncle "just saw her on the floor and she is not breathing properly anymore." The next thing, he rushed her to the hospital and everything happened so fast.

Because of what happened, Jhoanna said, "To be honest, I'm terrified for my life. ... However, in my profession, we did a pledge that we have to stay strong. ... I'm sticking to that pledge. ... It's our job."
