For 34-year-old local Basketball icon Ranidel de Ocampo, Troy Rosario may replace him soon in Gilas Pilipinas.
In a Philippine Daily Inquirer report, Ranidel said: “Sa nakikita ko na isa sa mga pwedeng pumalit sakin sa Gilas na stretch four, si Troy talaga nakikita ko eh (From what I see, one of the players who can replace me in Gilas as a stretch four is Troy Rosario. He’s really that player to me)."
The statement came after Troy earned praises for the Talk N Text win against Barangay Ginerbra last March 30.
According to a report from GMA News Online, Rosario scored as high as 22 points.
Troy Rosario,24, is currently the youngest player in Gilas Pilipinas, the Philippine team representing the country in international basketball tournaments.
Gilas Pilipinas is set to compete in FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament this July, which the Philippines will also be hosting.
