Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto explained his side in an interview about his alleged violation of Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

KAMI learned that Sotto aired his side of the story and insisted that he fully complied with the national government regarding the enhanced community quarantine guidelines.

In a Facebook video posted by the ABS-CBN News, Sotto said that the issue of him proposing to allow the tricycles to operate in Pasig City to help the health workers happened on March 18, 2020. However, the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act was enacted on March 24, 2020.

“Siguro, ‘yung panahong issue ‘yung tricycle, it was around March 18.

Wala pong delays, sumunod po kami,” he added.

The mayor of Pasig said that he would cooperate with the NBI should they be needing any documents from them or if there will be any investigation regarding the matter.

Handa po kami mag-cooperate kung may imbestigasyon man sila,” the mayor said.

However, Sotto said that for now, he would be focusing on doing his job to help prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
