Breaking: DOH records a total of 2,084 COVID-19 cases in PH

- The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Tuesday that there are additional 538 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines

- According to the DOH, the total of confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 2,084

- Meanwhile, 10 patients have died and 7 people have recovered from the disease

- DOH also announced that there are now 348 COVID-19 cases related to overseas Filipino workers outside PH

The Department of Health (DOH) has announced that there are 538 additional coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines.

KAMI learned that the total COVID-19 cases are now at 2,084, as of March 31.

In a press briefing led by DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, she announced that there are 10 additional deaths recorded. The death toll related to COVID-19 is now at 88.

Meanwhile, 7 more patients have recovered from the coronavirus disease, making a total of 49 recovered patients.

Para po maiwasan madagdagan ang numero ng mga bagong COVID-19 positive cases, sundin natin ang mga patakaran sa pag-iwas sa COVID-19 tulad ng pananatili sa bahay, physical distancing at palagiang paghugas ng kamay,” Vergeire said.

The DOH also announced that as of March 30, 2020, there are now 348 COVID-19 cases related to overseas Filipino workers.

228 of the patients are still admitted at the hospitals, 111 of them have recovered, while 9 have passed away due to COVID-19.

“Gusto ko lang po linawin, ito pong mga overseas Filipino workers na ito ay nasa ibang bansa po at wala po sa ating bansa sa ngayon,” Vergeire noted.

The health agency urged all Filipinos to observe the enhanced community quarantine guidelines such as staying at home, social distancing, and observing proper hygiene to flatten the curve and end the COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines.

The coronavirus disease or COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. As of posting time, there are more than 785,700 COVID-19 cases across the globe.
