Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) spokesperson Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles has clarified some issues regarding the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) over Luzon.

KAMI learned that Nograles debunked the “fake news” circulating on social media.

Through an interview on DZMM Teleradyo’s Failon Ngayon, Nograles said that there is no military control happening during the quarantine period. He also explained that there is no official announcement yet about the ECQ and that some public markets will be shut down.

“Mayroon din pong ‘Divisoria is closing’ and other public markets are closing,” he added.

However, Nograles said that all these claims are “fake news.”

The Cabinet Secretary also asked the public to refrain from sharing false information on social media, especially about the COVID-19 crisis.

“Please, to the public, do not share, do not post itong mga fake news na ito,” he said.

“Tumigil na kayo kung pwede pa. Tumigil na kayo… Paki-usap lang, tigilan niyo na ‘yan.” he warned.

Nograles said that in case the lockdown in Luzon will be extended, it will be announced by the official government pages or by President Rodrigo Duterte himself.
