Jewel May Lobaton, the ex-wife of Sen. Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel is airing her thoughts and sentiments with regards to the health condition of her ex-husband.
The 1998 Bb. Pilipinas Universe is very worried over her two sons who are living with the senator.
She said that she wanted the children to be tested as early as now, knowing fully well that they have been exposed to their father who already had the virus prior to the confirmation that he was positive with COVID-19.
Aside from the worries, the mother is wondering whether she could seek temporary custody over her two sons.
"Right now, hindi ko alam no, but I’m trying to ask my lawyers on temporary custody. Second, since naka self-quarantine sila, lahat naman tayo is PUM (Person Under Monitoring) I’m trying to reach out friends from the DOH to at least have them tested as early as now. I’m trying to reach out Mayor of Marikina, actually hindi ko alam, I’m thankful that there’s media and there’s a possibility that I can air out my concern about my children, kasi gusto ko na sila puntahan, gusto ko na sila makita pero siyempre I have to be careful also.”
The mom admitted to ABS-CBN that she has not seen them both physically, but she felt angry at how everything turned out, especially that her sons were exposed.
"Yung difficulty lang na wala sila sa akin, how much more now na exposed sila, helplessness, worry, anxiety, sometimes rage and anger kaya I ask for forgiveness from God, sabi ko Lord forgive me nagalit ako because these adults should be responsible with their actions. Pero let’s say nagkamali, what will I do now na ako ang nanay ng mga anak ko at walang nag-aalaga sa kanila ngayon,"
In 2013, Jewel May sought the annulment of her marriage with Sen. Pimentel. Previously, she denied rumors that Koko was an abusive husband. However, in her petition for annulment of marriage, she used marital abuse as a ground.
In a previous report by KAMI, Sen. Koko Pimentel earned the ire of Makati Medical Center after he went to the hospital with his wife because the latter was about to give birth via cesarean section despite being tested for COVID-19 which later turned out positive.
The coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak started out in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Scientists believed that the virus came from an animal at one of Wuhan's wet markets. At present, the Philippines is under a state of calamity while the entire Luzon is under an enhanced community quarantine.
