Matt Dockray took to Facebook to warn everyone to stop going out in order to save lives. His bouts with the deadly coronavirus were not something to be taken for granted.

According to Matt, it all started out with a small cough, chills, fever and a headache, and he was ill for three weeks.

Eventually, his symptoms worsened and since he neither traveled to China nor came in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, he was initially told that what he might be having was seasonal flu.

When his symptoms became so much worse, that his wife was the one who called for help and it was then confirmed that he had coronavirus.

He recounted that he was fighting the virus with every breath and that he was fighting it with everything he can.

Matt also revealed that he recorded a video for his wife and child to bid them goodbye because he came to a point that he nearly gave up because of pain and fear.

Here's an excerpt from Matt's post:

"With that it gives me the opportunity to tell each and every one of you who thinks they are invincible or breaching every bit of advice to go out for no reason. For everyone who things you might just get a cough and mild symptoms, or thinks they have had it so they will be fine, please please don’t be an idiot. I wouldn’t wish this on any enemy. I recorded a video to my wife and child to say goodbye because at one point I nearly gave up because of the pain and the fear.
I’m 39 and no poster boy for mens health but if I can end up like this now, so can anyone reading it. On an hourly basis now I am watching the rooms around me with a laminated red rose (identifying those critical with Covid-19) empty as their family say goodby through the glass."
