Elderly woman cries at supermarket after seeing empty shelves at canned goods aisle

An elderly woman went to Coles, a supermarket, to buy some food. She had an empty cart and headed straight to the canned goods aisle.

The old lady may not have expected the shelves to be empty, which as Yahoo News reported, were stripped bare by "selfish" panic buyers.

As per the report, the old woman just stared at the empty shelves and broke down in tears.

A journalist, Seb Costello, posted the photo on Twitter and captured the heartbreaking scene with, "This captures who is suffering from the "me-first, unnecessary, trend of panic buying."
