Amidst the pandemic, a ray of hope will always shine. KAMI learned that a mother infected with COVID-19 successfully gave birth to a healthy baby in Greece.

In Philstar's report, the mother had a cesarean operation where the doctors had to wear three pairs of gloves, masks and protective glasses.

Both the 24-year-old mom and her partner tested positive for the virus as per the Greek Reporter.

As per a doctor from the Attikon Hospital, where the mother gave birth, the virus is not transmitted via the placenta.

So even if the mother is a COVID-19 case, her baby would be born coronavirus free for as long as there would be no contact between them.
