Maine Mendoza just proved to the public that she has a soft spot for the people in need.

KAMI learned that the gorgeous actress already started a fund drive to give assistance to employees who are affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Mainland Luzon has been on lockdown for several days now and those who have jobs cannot temporarily go to their offices to avoid the spread of the said virus.

A lot of employees are worried about the enhanced community quarantine since the majority of them will not be paid for the absences that they committed.

That became one of the reasons why Maine decided to begin a fundraiser that could benefit those who are greatly affected by the said action of the government.

On Thursday, the Kapuso celebrity revealed that she had reached the maximum number of transfers already and it will resume today and in the coming days.

“Given the difficult situation we are all facing, I thought of starting the DoNation drive today. This is to help the employees who are not allowed to work because of the community lockdown,” she wrote.

“I am overwhelmed with all the emails and notifications from everyone. Today, I have already reached the maximum number of transfers. I will continue again tomorrow. Thank you very much especially to those who donated. Smiling face with smiling eyes May God bless you a thousand fold!” she added.

In a previous article by KAMI, Bela Padilla was able to raise more than 3 million pesos to help the street vendors who are affected by the community quarantine.

Maine Mendoza is one of the most popular and critically-acclaimed actresses in the Philippines. She starred in several movies including “Isa Pa With Feelings” where she partnered with Carlo Aquino.
