- ABS-CBN recently issued a statement amid the novel coronavirus pandemic
- It announced that majority of its shows will temporarily stop airing on television
- Teleseryes such as “Ang Probinsyano” will be replaced by the network’s old drama series
- The Kapamilya network also vowed to continue bring hope and inspiration to the viewing public
The Kapamilya network announced on March 14 that it will temporarily replace its television programs amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
KAMI learned that the taping of all of its programs has been halted following the announcement of President Rodrigo Duterte that the metropolis will be under “community quarantine.”
People who are living in Metro Manila, including showbiz personalities, are advised to do a self-quarantine to avoid being infected with the said virus.
Since the taping has been suspended, ABS-CBN will bring back its old drama series that made a mark to the viewing public.
“100 Days to Heaven,” which stars Coney Reyes, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Xyriel Manabat, will replace “Pamilya Ko.”
The longtime-running action-drama series entitled “Ang Probinsyano” will also take a break for the first time since it aired in 2015.
The Coco Martin-led series will be momentarily replaced by the well-acclaimed series of Zaijan Jaranilla entitled “May Bukas Pa.”
Meanwhile, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s “Make It with You” will be replaced by the romantic series of James Reid and Nadine Lustre entitled “On the Wings of Love.”
“A Soldier’s Heart” will also temporarily stop airing on television starting March 16. It will be substituted by “I Am U,” an iWant series starring Julia Barretto.
“We assure our viewers that the changes are only temporary. We will resume our regular programming when conditions improve and the safety and welfare of our people will not be compromised,” the statement issued on March 14 said.
“We vow to continue bringing hope and inspiration to our viewers through our shows as we remain committed to serving the Filipino people,” it added.
In a previous article by KAMI, the newest show of Vice Ganda also postponed its airing amid novel coronavirus pandemic.
ABS-CBN is a giant media and entertainment company in the Philippines. It has more than 11 thousand employees and it has been producing well-acclaimed shows.
