Metro Manila is now officially under community quarantine following President Duterte's announcement last Thursday. The Armed Forces of the Philippines were tasked to help the PNP man COVID border checkpoints.

The community quarantine was announced earlier on Thursday by President Rodrigo Duterte following the sustained local transmission of COVID-19.
The country's COVID-19 death toll is at 8 and 111 confirmed cases were reported recently by the Department of Health.
Countries such as China and Italy had undergone lockdown due to the rapid spread of the disease.
According to Worldometer, there are 155,812 coronavirus cases worldwide, with 5,814 deaths and 74,264 have already recovered.
In an earlier report, province-bound passengers flocked to the Araneta Bus Terminal a few hours before the community quarantine period.
