Television and Film star Andi Eigenmann, who is now in France for Cannes Film Festival 2016, expressed her desire to give stage acting a try.

"Stage will show how good you are and how dedicated you are as an artist," said Eigemann, "And I'm all about just always getting over my fear and trying to be better."

The actress revealed in an interview with FHM Philippines that she has stage fright. She is hopeful that trying out stage acting might be a chance for her to overcome this fear.

Eigenmann is on the cover of the May issue of FHM Philippines. She is currently making heads turn in Cannes, together with her mother, award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose.

The mother and daughter star in the latest film opus of acclaimed Filipino director Brillante Mendoza. The film "Ma' Rosa" is competing for the main event at the international film festival.

Apart from her good looks, Eigenmann may have also taken from her mom in the acting department.

In an article in the Manila Times, Jacklyn Jose was praised by Mendoza. “As usual, Jaclyn Jose is very good. No small roles for this big actress,” Mendoza noted.

Jose plays a mom who sells prohibited drugs with his husband, played by Juilo Diaz, in a shabu tiangge and gets in prison after a buy-bust operation. She later on reveals the source of illegal drugs in exchange of her freedom, but was forced to still pay a fine to get out of jail. She asks help from her children, one of which is played by Andi Eigenmann, who do everything to raise the needed money for their parents’ release.

Relaying her joy about being part of the film, Eigenmann said: "It's a dream come true... I've always been into art films, so indie is really what I love. I have a burning passion for it."

The 69th annual Festival de Cannes is scheduled to be held from 11 to 22 May 2016 in Cannes, France. The invitation-only festival is considered to be the most prestigious film festival in the world and is one of the most publicized, together with Berlin International Film Festival and Venice Film Festival.
