- Amid the constant reminder to observe social distancing, the terminal remained crowded with passengers hours before the start of the quarantine period
Araneta Bus Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City was flocked with panicking passengers hours before the start of the quarantine period in Metro Manila which will start on March 15, 2020, at 12:00 a.m. until April 14, 2020.
The month-long quarantine will be implemented because of the sustained local transmissions in Metro Manila. However, before the start of the quarantine period, people rushed to go back to their provinces in fear of a total lockdown which happened in some countries which were severely affected by the virus which is now considered as a pandemic.
In earlier reports, Millions of Chinese nationals fled Wuhan before it was locked down earlier this year. In the same case, netizens expressed their fear that the virus might spread rapidly.
In the announcement made by President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday night, he clarified advised the public to stay at home and observe social distancing to minimize the spreading of the virus.
