Batangas COVID-19 confirmed cases rise to 3

Batangas Governor's Office on March 14 morning confirmed another case of coronavirus in the province, taking a total of patients with the disease in Batangas to three.

According to a report by CNN Philippines, the new patient who tested positive is from Lemery town.

The Office said in a statement that the patient is in isolation at the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center.

However, the authorities did not provide any details yet regarding the gender and age of the new confirmed case.

Staff Katrin Buted then clarified that the patient is not among the latest cases by the Department of Health. DOH announced 12 new COVID-19 cases in the country on Friday, taking the total to 64.

It can be recalled that on Friday, March 13, authorities confirmed two cases of coronavirus disease in Batangas City. They are siblings aged 72 and 79, both isolated at Asian Hospital & Medical Center in Muntinlupa City.

As a result, the city has implemented stricter measures to prevent the spread of the dreadful virus.

Manila Bulletin on Friday reported that Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas issued a memorandum suspending classes in all levels in the province, both public and private, until March 31 this year.

In a previous report by KAMI, the number of cured COVID-19 patients in South Korea is now higher than recorded new cases tallied on March 13. This has brought hope to other countries that are affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

It marked the first time in the said Asian country that the number of cured patients was higher than the number of new infections.
