- A post has been circulating on social media after claiming that the Department of Health (DOH) identified “Red Zone” areas
- The post mentioned that the Red Zone areas are the sources of local transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country
- However, it has been reported that the claim was false and just misleading the public
- The DOH has released a post on social media to debunk the claim
A message has been circulating on social media after claiming that the Department of Health (DOH) released an advisory regarding “Red Zone” areas affected by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).
However, KAMI learned that the claim was false and just misleading the people.
The circulating post mentioned that the DOH identified the “Red Zone” areas as the source of local transmission.
“Everyone in close proximity to the Red Zone areas are required to limit movement to prevent getting infection and or cause further spread of the virus,” it read in the post.
Through a Facebook post, the DOH has debunked the claim and said that it was false.
“Circulating message about red zone areas is false!” it said in the post.
“DOH assures the public that all relevant information regarding the COVID-19 will be announced,” it added.
As previously reported by KAMI, another message concerning coronavirus disease went viral after claiming that DOH released an advisory that people should avoid certain malls and hotels. However, DOH also debunked the claim.
The health agency has recently reported a total of 33 coronavirus cases as of posting time. The number of cases started increasing since last Sunday.
