Although many fans were saddened by the news that “Eat Bulaga” will temporarily stop having a live studio audience because of the COVID-19 scare, most of them also understood that this is a necessary precaution to help stop the spread of the virus.

KAMI learned that one of the show’s hosts, Joey de Leon, has spoken up about the decision to not have a live studio audience for the program.

In a report by The Philippine Star (authored by Ricky Lo), Joey said that he and the other hosts had no idea that a live studio audience would be temporarily banned from the show until they saw the sign at the studio.

He added that physical contact with each other has also been discouraged among the hosts and crew.

“We were just told about it when we got to the studio yesterday morning,”

“A sign was placed at the entrance that we won’t be accepting ‘live’ audience for the meantime, but we don’t know how long it will last…

“No more beso-beso, no more kissing, no more shaking hands,” Joey told The Philippine Star.
