Qatar has enforced a temporary travel ban on travelers from the Philippines and 13 other countries amid the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread.
KAMI learned Qatar has reported a total of 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.
In a report by the Philippine Star (authored by Gaea Katreena Cabico), the Qatari government imposed temporary travel restrictions over the following countries:
- South Korea
- Sri Lanka
As reported by the ABS-CBN News, the travel ban starts on Monday, March 9, as a precautionary measure against the deadly coronavirus.
It has also been reported that Qatar Airways already suspended flights to and from Italy.
In a previous report by KAMI, the Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed a total of 10 cases in the Philippines.
The Corona Virus Disease 2019 was first reported in Wuhan, China. Out of the 10 confirmed cases in the Philippines, one patient who had a travel history to Wuhan died and two have recovered.
