Mayor Joy Belmonte has just confirmed the first case of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) in Quezon City.
KAMI learned from GMA News that Belmonte said on Monday morning that she received a report from the Department of Health (DOH) that there is a patient who tested positive for COVID-19 in Quezon City.
In a video posted by ABS-CBN News on Facebook, it was reported that the patient is from the 1st District of Quezon City.
Belmonte also advised the people to avoid panicking and immediately go to the hospital if a person is not feeling well.
As reported by the CNN Philippines, Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed that the patient from Quezon City was among the 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
As previously reported by KAMI, the DOH reported 4 additional cases of coronavirus disease in the country, making it a total of 10 confirmed cases
The Corona Virus Disease 2019 was first reported in Wuhan, China. Out of the 10 confirmed cases in the Philippines, one patient who had a travel history to Wuhan died.
