Pinky Webb clarifies issue about Sen. Franklin Drilon ‘sleeping’ during their interview

News anchor Pinky Webb has set the record straight on whether Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon really fell asleep during their interview or not.
KAMI learned that Webb clarified that the senator did not fall asleep during their one-on-one interview on CNN Philippines’ "The Source".
The news anchor has addressed the issue on Tuesday through her Twitter account.
“Here’s what happened. As I was laying the premise for my question, I saw Sen Drilon look down at the documents he had on the table,” Webb said.
“I did not see him fall asleep,” she added.
The issue regarding Drilon came out after a tweet claimed that he was caught falling asleep during his interview with Webb.
“BREAKING NEWS: Senator Franklin Drilon caught sleeping while being interviewed by @iampinkywebb on @cnnphilippines' The Source,” it read in the tweet.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. came in the defense of Drilon amid the issue.
“Drilon asleep makes more sense talking in his sleep than most officials wide awake,” he said.
Former Senator JV Ejercito replied to Locsin’s tweet and said: “Sen. @BigManDrilon is one of the most brilliant Senators I have worked with. When he stands up at the podium, you have to be prepared. He does his homework.”
“Most of his interpellations are very essential in the improvement of any passed measure,” he added.

Franklin "Frank" Magtunao Drilon is a Filipino politician who served in the Senate from 2000 to 2006, and then from 2013 to 2016. He is currently serving his fourth term and is now the Minority Floor Leader of the Senate.
