"In his "Bulgar" column published Tuesday (May 17), TG Guingona said that President-elect Rodrigo Duterte "best represented ordinary Filipinos" as manifested by the number of "protest vote" that he got, in the same way that made Corazon Aquino president way back in 1986.
After losing his senatorial reelection bid, outgoing Sen. Teofisto "TG" Guingona III increases effort to get on the good side of incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.

The senator, a stalwart of the Liberal Party, said the votes for Duterte reflect the public’s dissatisfaction with the current administration.
Guingona, under the Liberal Party ticket, said that the votes for Duterte reflect how dissatisfied the public is with the current administration.
“Sa protest vote, kahit sino puwedeng ilaban sa kinamumuhiang rehimen. Kahit pa ‘walang alam’ tulad nina Cory at Digong, mananalo.
He added that among all candidates for the presidency, it was only Duterte who best represented ordinary Filipinos.
Guingona is one of the political personalities among the plenty who went to Davao on Monday, May 16, to congratulate the incoming President.
Guingona has not expressed his plans after the end of his senatorial term, but given his kind words and his Davao appearance, it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that he is aiming to take part in Duterte's administration.
