Salvacion Gerona, the mother of Vice President Leni Robredo, has passed away on Saturday, February 22.
KAMI learned that the politician’s mom was already 83 years old.
The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed, but it can be remembered that VP Leni requested for prayers a month ago because her mom was at the hospital.
Before she died, Gerona served as a teacher at the Universidad de Sta. Isabel in Naga City, one of the oldest and historical schools in the Philippines.
According to the Vice President, Gerona spent most of her life in the teaching profession. She began sharing her knowledge when she was just 18 years old.
The politician’s mom also became an Adviser of school paper and a teacher of ballet and drama.
She got married to Antonio Gerona, the late presiding judge of the Camarines Sur Regional Trial Court.
Meanwhile, through a recent social media post, the second highest government official in the country thanked the people who continue to sympathize with her family.
She also mentioned that the wake of her mother will be at the Eternal Gardens, Balatas Road, Naga City.
“Thank you to everyone who offered prayers and sent condolences,” she wrote.

Leni Robredo is a well-known politician and lawyer in the Philippines. She is the wife of the late Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo.
