Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa opened up about the controversy involving the possible closure of ABS-CBN due to its franchise issue.
KAMI learned that the senator specifically discussed the possibility of around 11,000 people losing their jobs if the Kapamilya network is shut down.
In a report by The Philippine Daily Inquirer (authored by Maila Ager), the entire Filipino nation should be prioritized over the 11,000 employees if the allegations against ABS-CBN are proven to be true.
However, he added that he would first look at the evidence presented against the network before making up his mind about it.
“What is 11,000 (employees) compared to the whole Filipino nation na matagal ng sinamantalahan ng isang kumpanya kung talagang ma prove yan sa hearing na pinagsamantalahan ang sambayanang Pilipino. What’s 11, 000 compared to the whole Filipino nation?
KAMI previously reported that celebrities have reacted online to the possible closure of ABS-CBN.
President Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly expressed his desire to shut down ABS-CBN during his speeches. Recently, Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition at the Supreme Court to cancel the network’s franchise.
