NBA star Lebron James has decided to use no. 2 for his team in the upcoming All-Star Game on February 16.
KAMI learned that Lebron wanted to honor Gianna Bryant, the daughter of Kobe Bryant who passed away with him in a helicopter crash.
"They asked me which number did I want to wear, the 24 or 2 for my team, and I picked 2,” Lebron said.
When asked why no. 2, Lebron just said, “Zhuri.”
Zhuri James is the five-year-old and only daughter of Lebron. She is the youngest member of the “James Gang.”
In a report by the Sports Illustrated (authored by Ben Pickman), the NBA All-Star Game will be dedicated to Kobe and Gianna.
Lebron explained that he has seen Kobe the happiest when he spent more time with his family, most especially with his daughters.
"It felt like these last three years were the happiest I've ever seen him," Lebron said.
"I think we all can say that. It was the happiest I've ever seen him, being able to just be with his daughters, be with his family,” he added.
"To see him these last three years just being ... y'all see 'GirlDad,' the hashtag. I'm a girl dad. My brother right here [Anthony Davis] is a girl dad,” the basketball player continued.
In a previous report by KAMI, Lebron has posted an emotional tribute following the tragic death of Kobe and Gianna.
On January 26, the world was shocked to know about the sudden death of Kobe and Gianna when the helicopter they were riding crashed in Calabasas, California.
