A video of Prince Harry breaking his silence following his family’s decision to drop their Royal titles has surfaced online.
KAMI learned that Prince Harry delivered his speech at a charity event at the Ivy Chelsea Club in London.
In a report by CNN (authored by Dakin Andone), Prince Harry expressed his “great sadness” following the happenings.
"The UK is my home and a place that I love. That will never change,” he said.
"The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly.
"It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven't always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option,” Prince Harry added.
The Duke of Sussex explained that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, will continue to serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Commonwealth even if they already dropped their Royal titles.
“Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding,” he explained.
"Unfortunately, that wasn't possible,” he added.
Prince Harry also talked about his own family’s future following their decision.
“I've accepted this, knowing that it doesn't change who I am or how committed I am," he said.
"But I hope that helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life,” he added.
In a previous report by KAMI, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are stepping back as “senior” members of the Royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have tied the knot in May 2018. A year after, their first child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, was born.
