Aga Muhlach was interviewed by Boy Abunda on the ABS-CBN program “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”
KAMI learned that Aga was asked about losing to Allen Dizon in the MMFF 2019 Best Actor race.
According to the veteran star, whose performance in “Miracle in Cell No. 7” was highly acclaimed, he has learned through the years not to expect to win in awards nights.
He added that the real victory for him now is if many people watched his movie and not in winning the best actor awards. His dramatic movie was the biggest box office earner in the recent MMFF 2019.
“Sinong may ayaw nun ano? Pero sana sa tinagal-tagal ko na sa industriyang ito, I’ve had my share of yung mga ganyan, even when I was younger I would really expect, ‘I’m gonna win in this awards night.’
“Biglang talo ka. So I’ve learned not to expect. Pati ang mga tropeyo, I’ve learned not to take that seriously.
“Para sa akin ang tropeyo ko, hindi to showbiz ah, pag ang pelikula ko pinanood nila.
“Gusto ko siya, masarap sa gabi na yun, nanalo ka. Pero pag hindi ka nanalo, it doesn’t change you… Kaya kung sino man ang manalo, masaya ako para sa kaniya. Like Allen Dizon, he won Best Actor. Alam ko feeling ng nananalo, masarap, kaya congratulations,” Aga told Boy.
In a previous report by KAMI, Aga expressed his disagreement with the notion that married men should still have boys’ night out.
Aga Muhlach and his wife Charlene started dating only after he asked for her parents' permission to get engaged to her. They tied the knot on May 28, 2001, at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Pacdal, Baguio City, less than a year after their engagement. They were blessed with twins Atasha and Andres.
