- He was not able to bring home the recognition despite being the heavy favorite on social media
- Because of that, Robin Padilla bravely aired his opinion about the results of MMFF 2019
- He also gave an unsolicited comment about the Philippine remake of “Miracle in Cell No. 7”
Robin Padilla aired his honest and unsolicited opinion on why Aga Muhlach was not able to receive the Best Actor award at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2019.
KAMI learned that Aga was the heavy favorite to win the said coveted recognition but it was eventually given to Allen Dizon for his performance in “Mindanao.”
The former “That's My Doc” star already accepted the results, but many netizens are still in disbelief because of the decision of the judges.
Through an Instagram post, Robin expressed why he thinks Aga did not win the highest possible award for male celebrities who are part of the festival.
He pointed out that the jurors might have thought that the film was just an adaptation that was why it did not meet their standards.
However, the actor recognized that the movie is really a blockbuster hit in the Philippines and that it will soon get honored by other award-giving bodies.
“Sa akin opinyon, baka dahil adaptation po kasi ang Miracle kaya nahirapan po ito lumusot sa criteria ng mga masusing artist at jurors pero sigurado po ako sa kanilang puso ay nagmarka ang Miracle…” he quipped.
“May ibang award giving bodies pa naman kaya sa ngayon ay ipagdiwang muna natin ang tagumpay sa takilya ng pelikula ni Mr. Aga tutal alam naman natin lahat na best actor of all time si Muhlach…” he added.
In a previous article by KAMI, Robin responded to Sharon Cuneta’s birthday greeting after their misunderstanding.
Robin Padilla is a prominent Filipino actor who is known for being a solid supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte. He is married to Mariel Padilla and they already have two children.
