Trump OKs provision that bans US entry of PH politicians who jailed De Lima

- United States President Donald Trump already approved a provision that bans entry of some Philippine politicians

- The said prominent personality signed the said provision when he approved his country’s 2020 budget

- It is stated that those who are involved in detaining Leila de Lima are prohibited from entering the US

- However, the US government has yet to issue an official list of the banned Filipino politicians

Donald Trump, the current president of the United States of America, has approved a provision that officially bans several Filipino politicians from entering the said country.

KAMI learned that the popular head of state approved the provision when he signed the country’s national budget for the year 2020.

Included in the now-approved budget was a move to prohibit entry of Philippine politicians who were involved in jailing Senator Leila de Lima.

The stipulation also said that the Secretary of State will be basing on the “credible information” that he acquired about the accusers of the Filipina lawmaker.

As of the time of writing, no official list of banned personalities has been disclosed to the public.

Aside from De Lima, there are also other foreign government officials from Egypt who are now banned from entering the US.

“Secretary of State shall apply subsection to foreign government officials about whom the Secretary has credible information have been involved in the wrongful imprisonment of: (1) Mustafa Kassem, an American citizen imprisoned by the Government of Egypt and whose health is failing; and (2) Senator Leila De Lima, who was arrested in the Philippines in 2017,” the provision stated.

In a previous article by , US Senator Marco Rubio urged the government of the Philippines to free De Lima.

Donald Trump is one of the most famous and controversial leaders in the world. The House already approved two impeachment articles against him.
