Yeng Constantino recently gave a message straight to President Rodrigo Duterte about the renewal of ABS-CBN's franchise.
In the grand press conference for their 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Write About Love, the Tawag ng Tanghalan hurado appealed to Duterte to reconsider his stand on the network's franchise renewal.
"Sir, saludo po ako sa marami niyong ginagawa tulad ng paglilikom ng mga pondo para sa bansa natin, para sa investment. I don’t know what’s right and wrong for you. And ano yung pinakaugat at puno nito at humantong sa ganito."
"Pero, Sir, ano, sana po ma-consider niyo rin po yung ibang mga artists na nagtatrabaho sa industriyang ito katulad po namin. Baka lang po, kumakatok lang po kami sa puso ninyo na baka maaari naman na hindi po maputol po yung source of living namin, Sir."
When asked if she and her fellow artists talk about the future of the Kapamilya network, the Pop Rock Diva said that they don't talk about it.
"We don’t really talk about it. Parang ang hirap pag-usapan. Hindi naman sa wala nang panahon, it's just sad to talk about. Pag minsan na lang kayo magkikita ng mga katrabaho mo, Sundays lang or a short time in Tawag ng Tanghalan, you don’t talk about things that will make you sad."
"You choose to talk about things na light na lang. Pero, I feel na everyone’s sad about the thought na puwede siyang mangyari."
