South Africa once again emerged victorious in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant.
KAMI learned that Zozibini Tunzi bested more than 80 gorgeous candidates for the highly-coveted crown.
She stunned many people with her performance in long gown and swimsuit rounds, and she was able to gain praises because of her strong statements about her advocacy.
“I think the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is leadership. It’s something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time, not because we don’t want to but because of what society has labeled women to be,” she quipped.
“I think we are the most powerful beings in the world and that we should be given every opportunity and that is what we should be teaching these young girls, to take up space, nothing is as important as taking up space in society and cementing yourself. Thank you!” she added.
Zozibini becomes the third South African candidate to win the coveted Miss Universe title.
Meanwhile, Madison Anderson of Puerto Rico and Sofia Aragon of Mexico emerged as first and second runners-up, respectively.
