JC De Vera revealed why he decided to keep his relationship with non-showbiz girlfriend Rikkah Cruz private.
KAMI learned that the Love is Love star finally shared the reason behind his decision in an episode of Tonight with Boy Abunda on Wednesday, December 4.
"For the longest time, kini-keep ko 'yung mga relationships ko. Natatakot ako siguro na maraming masasabi 'yung mga tao."
"Pero ngayon kasi confident talaga ako na pag-usapan 'to ngayon. Alam ko kung saan kami papunta. Gusto ko talaga siya ipagmalaki sa mundo."
JC also admitted that there was a time that Rikkah questioned his decision to hide their relationship.
"Natanong niya rin. Sabi ko sa kanya, 'Slowly lang kasi baka mamaya malaman ng buong mundo 'yung ginagawa natin, baka wala na tayo ma-keep for ourselves."
"Lalo na 'yung show business 'di ba? Minsan meron talagang maririnig si Rikkah na hindi maganda sa pandinig niya. So, sabi ko sa kanya, 'Kailangan kita i-prepare slowly para sa papasukin natin. Para 'di ka manibago, para 'di ka ma-hurt'"
