Families get emotional as they pay tribute to London Bridge attack victims

- The families of the London Bridge attack victims paid tribute to those who got killed by the convicted terrorist

- The victims were identified as Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones who were student and staff of the University of Cambridge

- Both victims were being remembered by their families and their colleagues from the university

- The London Bridge attack happened last Friday, November 29, 2019, at the Fishmongers’ Hall

Families have paid tributes to two victims of the London Bridge attack that happened last Friday.

KAMI learned that the victims were identified as Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23.

In a report by The Guardian (authored by Hannah mays), the first victim identified was Merritt who got killed by Usman Khan with his knife attack at Fishmongers’ Hall.

Merritt was attending an event to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Learning Together, a prison-based education project. He was described by his father as “a beautiful spirit who always took the side of the underdog.”

He studied law at the University of Manchester before attending the University of Cambridge from 2016 to 2017.

Meanwhile, the second victim identified was Jones who was a former Cambridge University student as well.

She was tagged as a funny, kind, positive influence at the center of many people's lives.

“Saskia had a great passion for providing invaluable support to victims of criminal injustice, which led her to the point of recently applying for the police graduate recruitment program, wishing to specialize in victim support,” her family said in a statement.

She had completed a Master’s degree in criminology in 2018.

The London Bridge attack began when convicted terrorist Usman Khan brought out two knives and was wearing a fake suicide vest. He was shot dead by officers after people intervened to tackle him on London Bridge.
