A social media post has claimed that actor Oyo Boy Sotto criticized the people who blamed President Rodrigo Duterte for the crisis the Philippines have been facing.
However, KAMI learned that the claim was false.
The circulating photo showed artwork of Sotto’s face with the words:
“Kapag ibang bansa ang binomba, lakas niyo maka #PrayForFrance, etc. Pero nung ang Pinas na ginawa niyo lang biro? Sinisi niyo agad ang Presidente? Puro kayo talkshit! Mga hypocrite! Nalulungkot ako dahil may mga Pinoy na katulad niyo! Kinahihiya ko kayo! Kaya di umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil sa inyo! – Oyo Sotto”
Through an Instagram post, Sotto himself has denied the claim. The actor said that he did not say what was stated in the photo and urged the one who posted it to delete the picture.
“GUSTO KO LANG PO LINAWIN NA HINDI SA AKIN GALING ANG MGA SALITANG NASA PICTURE. MATAGAL NA PO ITO, MAY NAGKALAT NA NAMAN,” Sotto wrote.
“DOON PO SA GUMAWA NITO, PAKI DELETE AT WAG PO SANA GAMITIN ANG KUNG SINO MAN NA HINDI NAMAN TALAGA NAG SABI NYAN. MAG INGAT PO TAYO SA FAKE NEWS. SALAMAT PO. #MaramingNamamataySaAkala,” he added.
